Working with TAS Aviation - KAOH
As a part of the transition and expansion of TAS providing maintenance services at KAOH, we put together some information for you to use so that you can understand exactly how to interact with TAS, schedule our services, and overall policies we have in our business that will also extend to our new facility at KAOH. Please review these and don’t hesitate to reach out to us if you have any questions or concerns throughout this process.
What is our goal in Lima?
The reason for our expansion into Lima is twofold, with two main priorities. The first priority is to be able to serve on-field based aircraft with their maintenance needs through routine inspections, maintenance service call-outs, and transient maintenance needs. This service does NOT include avionics work, as we are not an avionics facility. This is what we will be offering to the local tenants of KAOH. Our second priority is to grow the capacity of our core business, which is the service of Twin Cessna aircraft from around the world. Currently, we conduct roughly 70-80 annual inspections on Twin Cessna aircraft from all over the world each year, and we do maintenance on another 40 to 50 aircraft through prebuy inspections, specific systems maintenance, oil changes, etc. One of the biggest goals for TAS in expanding to Lima, was to grow our capacity to service more Twin Cessna’s.
Timeline & Staffing
We will officially begin conducting services on June 1, 2025 at KAOH. That being said, we are planning a strategic, slow and coordinated ramp up period. For the first six months, our staff assigned to this location will only be on site part time and will be handling a small amount of work, in addition to emergency/call out services as needed at KAOH. Beginning in the first part of 2026, our plan is to have a full time operation at KAOH that will be staffed 8AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday. Until then, staffing will be periodic as we work to onboard this new location. Upon opening, our only staff member will be our Director of Maintenance Operations - Lima, Matt Cellar. We will occasionally have other staff members on site as needed, but Matt will be the lead staff member on behalf of TAS Aviation, as we work to bring in more staff and employees ahead of our January 2026 goal of having a full capacity operation in Lima.
Scheduling Service & Communicating with TAS
All communication for service needs will continue to operate through our headquarters in Defiance, with no exceptions. Given the growth in work we do and the processes we must abide by in order to properly conduct that work, all scheduling requests, billing questions, or any other communications will operate through our Defiance location. If you need to schedule maintenance services, please contact the number provided at the bottom of this sheet and we will schedule accordingly. We will not be doing any scheduling in person through the staff located at Lima, and if asked, they will direct you back to the Defiance location for these services. We utilize a specific scheduling system that analyzes the available labor hours we
have, and the requests that are coming in. This means that if you would like to schedule services, specifically annual inspections, or larger work, please contact us with a good amount of lead time to properly schedule.
Rules & Policies of TAS Aviation
TAS operates under the rules and policies of a Part 145 Repair Station. While the Lima location will not immediately be officially subject to these policies due to the enrollment time of a new facility and approval timing, we will continue to strictly follow these policies regardless. This means that it will not be permissible to walk onto our shop floor without escort from a TAS Staff member or specific invitation. Additionally, we do not allow owner-assisted work as a company policy, without prior consent and proper coordination. We will also not allow the use of borrowing tooling or equipment due to guidelines we must follow. Lastly, if you’d like to purchase a part or piece of equipment we happen to have available to sell, you will have to call our Defiance Headquarters and arrange payment and logistics for that purchase. There will be other policies and procedures that will be enforced, but this overview gives you a general idea of our expectations and how we run our facilities.

Newsletter Update #1 TAS Aviation, INC

6/1/25
To the Tenants of Lima Allen County Regional Airport (KAOH), We’re excited to share that we at TAS Aviation will begin operations at KAOH starting June 1, 2025. This marks a significant milestone in our nearly five-decade history, and we look forward to becoming a part of the aviation community here in Lima.
For those unfamiliar with our background, TAS Aviation has proudly operated out of Defiance Memorial Airport (KDFI) for the past 49 years, building a national reputation as a leader in Twin Cessna maintenance. We are recognized for our deep expertise, high standards of service, and our commitment to keeping Twin Cessna’s flying at their best. In addition to our recognized maintenance services, we also own and operate The Twin Cessna Flyer owners organization which is the official owners organization for the Twin Cessna aircraft and represents between 1200 and 1500 members worldwide. Lastly, we also operate an aircraft sales and acquisition entity that engages in brokerage and acquisition services on Twin Cessna’s as well as other aircraft types.
Our decision to open a second facility at KAOH serves two main purposes. First, we will be offering maintenance services to airport tenants, including routine maintenance services, on-field support, and call-out services as needed. Second, this expansion is aimed at expanding our Twin Cessna service capacity, allowing us to better serve our nationwide customer base.
This move is part of a larger growth strategy for TAS Aviation as we prepare for the next chapter in the history of our business. Our team is enthusiastic about building strong relationships with tenants and airport leadership, and we are eager to contribute to the success and vitality of the airport community here.
We will provide additional information on how to contact our team both in Lima as well as at our headquarters in Defiance, schedule maintenance with us, or learn more about our services. We look forward to meeting many of you in person and becoming a trusted resource on the field.
Thank you for the warm welcome. We’re proud to be a part of your airport community.
Sincerely,
Marla Pancake
